FAQs

What dogs do you accept?

We take up to four visitors at a time.

For everyone's safety and happiness, there are minimum requirements for your dog to stay with us.

It must be:

  • Non- aggressive towards people or other dogs. This includes resource guarding of people and toys. Being protective of their dinner is acceptable, but please do mention this!

  • Used to sleeping alone. Our dogs mostly sleep happily together downstairs unless we have reason to think it's unsuitable. Dog that occasionally sleep in your room may be OK, provided they have slept elsewhere alone before. If they're used to sleeping only on your bed(!), we can't accept them.

  • Housetrained. We're ready for occasional accidents, but your dog should be used to toileting before bed and have a cue word to let them know that it's time to pee.

  • Fully Vaccinated (including up to date booster) and recently treated for parasites (worms and fleas).

  • Able to walk ON A LOOSE LEAD. If you're unsure of this or need help training please contact us. Even if your dog is small so pulling isn't a 'problem' for you, it can become a big issue when walking multiple dogs together. For their safety and ours loose lead walking is important.

Will you walk my dog?

Of course! At least twice a day.

Bella gets up to four hours per day - walking arrangements depend on the combination of dogs staying so older ones or dogs under a year old may get a shorter walk while the young adults get more.

How do we book?

Get in touch to arrange an initial visit. If you like us and we like you, we'll arrange a trial night. This is important for your dog to know the change of address is temporary, as well as for us to become aware of any issues.

Once your dog has completed a trial night successfully, they'll be a registered client and can be booked for longer periods.

Please note - we get very busy and can often not fit in trial nights at short notice so please do arrange a trial as soon as possible - don't wait until you've got your holidays booked!

Bookings should be made as far in advance as possible, especially for peak periods. Payment in advance is required to confirm a booking, but is refundable if your dog 'fails their audition'.

Can I bring the kids?

Only if they have four legs and a tail!

We are not insured for children on the premises. Please arrange to visit with a maximum of two adults.

What should I bring?

  • Your dog.

  • Their bed or blanket.

  • Their food. Include treats by all means, but it's not necessary.

  • Their harness, if they wear one.

  • Toys: only bring toys that can be replaced. We can't guarantee their survival!

  • We'll provide treats, leads, toys etc., as well as all the love they need.
